About PI

Dr. Jui-Yen (Thomas) Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Delaware (UD), USA.

His research centers on interfacial phenomena in environmental systems, with an emphasis on translating fundamental understanding into engineering solutions for water treatment and resource recovery.

Dr. Lin has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in leading SCI journals, including Water Research, Applied Catalysis B, and Chemical Engineering Journal. In 2020, he received the Award of Excellence in Research from the CTCI Foundation.

Graduate Students (M.S. / Ph.D.)

Applicants with a background in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

International Internship (4–6 months)

We welcome undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students from diverse academic backgrounds to join our lab for short-term (4 ~ 6 month) research experience.

🔹 Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
• Interest in experimental research and system design
• Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:
  • Multiphysics simulation
  • IoT and sensing systems
  • Reactor design and fabrication
